The List of Things I Plan On Watching in Near Future
- Star Trek, based on the list
Completed:
- Star Trek: The Original Series – The Corbomite Maneuver - It was okay, the longer pauses in action, where there was just nothing going on, felt a bit weird, but overall I can see how it could work.
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - Honesty, very great, makes me want to watch the episode Khan first appears in, but I won't for now. Also, very iconic for the final scene with Kirk and Spock and I imagine layed the groundwork for the first slash shippers.
- Star Trek: The Next Generation – Darmok - Carl Wheezer voice "Soooo freaking good"
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine – Duet - I have a very slight familiarity with DS9 through an artist jadenvargen on tumblr, but it is incomplete (I mainly just wanted to share this artist's work cause it bangs like a drum). As for the episode itself - what a heavy episode. But very interesting. I am writing this as I am watching, because I am engrossed in thought over the situation. Also it's bufferring. Christ on a bike, his speech. But it's the middle of the episode. Dunno how I feel about the ending. I think overall very solid, gonna need time processing the ending.
- Star Trek: Voyager - Night - Fun start. I enjoy this so far, it is interesting. Yeah, it is good. I am pleased.
- Star Trek: Enterprise - Broken Bow - Okay, I don't know why but like - the 'futuristic' shotgun cocking is very funny to me. WHAT IN THE CHRISTIAN SOFT ROCK IS THIS THEME. So far it's pretty blah. I don't know how necessary the decontamination gel scene is. Okay, this is getting deeply uncomfortable. Like I'm glad the characters don't make a great deal out of rubbing decontam gel on each other, BUT THE CAMERAWORK SURE DOES. Just overall blah.
- Star Trek: Discovery – Brother - Ooh, a recap. WILD. So much happened last season. So many deaths and explosions. Truly a post-Abrams Star Trek. WAIT THE RECAP'S NOT OVER. ENTERPRISE IS HERE? Y'know what, that transition from the intro bit to the episode with it defocusing into the glass, is pretty nifty, I do enjoy such seamless things. S-Spock? I'm so - I'm so sorry but - seeing a child with those eyebrows fucking kills me - My goddamn stomach hurts from laughing. DOUG JONES! *the crowd cheers* Man, I am bad about second-hand embarrassment. *dispassionate 'lol' at pod 3 going down*. Okay, I am now somewhat engaged with the story, because I am leaning at the action. Overall, I'd say it's good. It's action fun. It seems to be having fun with it and I can't fault it on that.
- Star Trek: Lower Decks – Where Pleasant Fountains Lie - Short and sweet! I liked it, not a lot more to say.
- Star Trek: Prodigy – Time Amok - It's fine.
- Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – The Serene Squall - Recap! And it's the crew that shows up in Discovery, I think, with Pike. Or at least Pike's actor is the same. Spock is having dating troubles. "You are half-human." "That is simply biology. I was raised on Vulcan." "That's just geography." Well, no, like, it's also the culture difference, Spock ought've sussed out that zinger. "Not the (name for a scam)" "Yep, the (name for a scam)" Third person:"Erm, what's (name for a scam)?" Like I felt a lil bit of the marvel thing with the kaboom stuff, this is the second one that kinda feels that way. Yeahhhhhh. I mean. I kinda felt bad mojo when she, like, turned up in all black. But not like. In a genuine bad vibes way. But in a "oh, this is kinda hackneyed" way. Like, saying all that, again, as with Discovery, they seem to be having fun with it, so I can't fault them on that.
Ongoing:

Planned Rewatches (haven't watched these in a year or more and want to watch them again):
Things I have finished watching:
- Sept. 2nd, 2023 - Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham (2023) - Goddamn, what a movie. Very, incredibly strong.
- Oct. 13th-14th, 2023 - The Batman (2022) - A banger. Thought three hours would be too much and it may have been if it wasn't this strong.
- Oct. 21st-22nd, 2023 - John Wick (2014) - This is a rewatch, but I haven't seen it in a long while, gonna watch the trilogy (cause that's the disc that I got) over some time. And the fourth one later. Still so so very good.
- Nov. 8th, 2023 - Air Buddies (2006) - This was watched as a bit to make conjectures out of. Such a nothing movie it was genuinely mind-numbing.
- Don't remember the exact date - My Adventures With Superman Season 1 (2023) - Very good, very fun, very sweet. Can't wait for season 2.
- Dec. 24th-25th, 2023 - The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) - Classic for a reason, very good, very sweet
- April. 25th, 2024 - Grease (1978) - Wanted to watch this to get some inspo for a character of mine playing a greaser and it's a fun movie in its own right. The choreography is so much (positive). Travolta can really move.
